Weinstein controversy: How the smug self congratulatory anti Trump speeches in Hollywood backfired

Let's get some things out of the way. I actually agreed with the majority of what a lot of the celebs had to say at these award shows and find Trump to be a joke of a man. Having said that, liberals just seemed clueless how silly Hollywood celebs looked acting so self important when they were preaching to the world about how bad Trump was. Same with other rants in the past where playing the role of an activist was mistakenly viewed as heroic when all it was a chance to play someone so heroic. So Daily Kos is one area where I would not get the side eye a lot because I would not join in a hundred amens to some echo chamber worthy comment, I posted this comment about how Hollywood would appear more heroic if people would be more judicious in making fun of Trump to maximize the effect and use some energy going after the bad people in their own industry and that would be truly heroic. I made a couple of comments like that without much in the way of agreement from other readers. The

The lack of diversity of thought in progressive blogs

This is an attempt to provide more freedom of expression and expand the idea of what it means to be a progressive.  Some of the topics we are going to deal with include Racism, Race relations, gender relations, political correctness, Title IX, Charter Schools, freedom of expression on college campuses, taxes, healthcare, religion,  and corruption. I used to be on DailyKos but was banned recently and decided to start my own blog. I would rather not, but I just do not see a suitable blog out there that does not frown on anything that threatens conventional left talking points. I do not hate the left. I actually respect a lot of the sentiment and thought that comes from there, but I believe progressivism has to focus more on what helps everyone instead of putting too much emphasis on the means to get to that point.
